Based in Marne-la-Vallee just east of Paris the complex features two theme parks, an entertainment district and seven resort hotels. The location of Marne-la-Vallee was chosen because of its proximity to Paris with its central location in Western Europe.
Disneyland Resort Paris is no more than a four hour drive for 68million people and no more than a two hour flight for a further 300million, making it a prime route for cheap flight low cost airlines.
Opened in 1992 and initially called Euro Disney the brand name was changed in 1995 to Disneyland Paris Resort in an effort to improve its public image.
A second theme park called Walt Disney Studios Park was opened in 2002, making Disneyland Paris Resort as popular as its counterpart in Florida the Walt Disney World Resort With cheap flights available from most U.K. airports to Paris tour operators such as First Choice have seized the opportunity to whisk the holidaymaker of to Mickey and Minnie’s island of make believe!
